Lead Backend Engineer

We're looking for an experienced server developer / architect / full-stack engineer to head up and create the team building an ambitious multiplayer game.

 

The kind of experience we're looking for:

  • worked on multiplayer games with custom solutions and/or Photon / Mirror / etc

  • built backend tools for developers

  • knows how to scale with demand

  • Javascript

  • Python

  • Typescript

  • Rust (not essential)

  • Databases - such as MySQL, no-SQL Databases like Datastore MongoDB, Firebase etc

  • Hosting - AWS / Azure / AppEngine

  • React

  • Computer Science degree

  • Good people skills and experience managing code teams

  • Desirable: blockchain coding / smart contracts

2D Artist

  • Generalist Artist

  • Must know Unity

  • Strong Concept Art ability

  • In-game 2D art

  • Must understand optimisation of 2D game assets

  • Versatile style

  • Worked on at least 1 shipped game

  • Desirable: Animation

  • Desirable: Basic 3D knowledge

  • Desirable: Experience with Pixel Art

Unity Game Developer

  • Experienced in Unity (C#)

  • Server side coding (e.g. Python, JS, Java)

  • Computer Science degree from a good University

  • Good people skills and experience managing code teams

  • Desirable: blockchain coding / smart contracts

  • Interest in cryptocurrencies & NFTs

Senior Producer

  • Define, implement and optimise appropriate project management methodologies for the studio

  • Oversee development of all projects, balancing scope, quality and budget

  • Risk assessment, reporting and mitigation

  • Create milestone schedules in conjunction with leads and external partners

  • Own resourcing and budgeting for all projects

  • Define team structures, roles and oversee hiring as well as Long range staffing strategy for the studio

  • Due diligence, contract negotiations and partnership management with partners

  • Escalation contact for external partners and vendors

  • P&L ownership for projects

  • Line management for production and qa staff

  • Experience balancing multiple project needs within a growing studio

  • Regular reporting of progress

  • Keep abreast of current videogame/blockchain tech and market trends

    Experience:

  • Cross-discipline team management

  • Experience in growing teams to fit within project scopes

  • Experience pitching

  • Experience with risk analysis, scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation and basic design. 

  • Must have worked on multiple game projects with 6+ years industry experience in a production role
